Philippine Airlines selects IBS Software's iCargo to replace cargo system

The cloud-based platform is set to support domestic and international cargo operations, including customs and regulatory requirements.

Philippine Airlines has selected IBS Software's cloud-based iCargo platform to replace its current cargo system. The implementation is intended to extend iCargo across the carrier's domestic and international cargo operations and support its broader modernisation programme.

According to IBS Software, iCargo will cover cargo movements in both networks, including international requirements such as customs reporting, duties and taxes settlement, and regulatory compliance. The platform is already used by carriers managing a similar combination of domestic and international demands, the company said, providing flexibility, scale and capabilities for both.

The transition is expected to help Philippine Airlines address operational requirements including system performance and data analytics. IBS Software said iCargo would provide modern capabilities for faster shipment processing, greater reliability and end-to-end shipment visibility, while reducing manual intervention and supporting more efficient processes.

Jason Siy, vice president for cargo business at Philippine Airlines, described the initiative as an important step in the modernisation of the airline's cargo business. He said that as the carrier grows across its domestic and international network, it needs a system that increases visibility, improves operational efficiency and enables a better customer experience. Siy also called iCargo a key enabler of the airline's long-term cargo transformation strategy and its ambition to build a stronger cargo business.
